The pores of the cork are filled with natural latex and cork powder which improves the mechanical performances and thus offers a good aptitude for stopping.
Cork does not like ebullient water. To facilitate stopping, you can soak them a few minutes in water with 40-50°.
If you have a engine on foot, you stop dry directly.
Store your stoppers in a dry place.
The cork is available in different lengths in function of the keeping time of the wine:
38 mm length = cork for a keeping of +/- 2 years
45 mm length = cork for a keeping of +/- 5 years
49 mm length = cork for a keeping of +/- 10 years
